św. Michała (Archanioła) i Wszystkich Aniołów. O “głównym bohaterze” tego świeta
pisaliśmy
dwa lata temu. Dzisiaj chcielibyśmy poświęcić trochę uwagi aniołom w ogóle. W ubiegłym tygodniu byliśmy gośćmi haskiej parafii reformowanej

. W jej biuletynie znaleźliśmy dający do myślenia tekst autorstwa ks. dra L.F. de Graaffa zatytułowany “Zniknięcie aniołów”. Autor tego tekstu, pastor reformowany, poświęcił aniołom swoją rozprawę doktorską.
Przez większą część dziejów Kościoła ludzie czerpali siłę i pocieszenie z wiary w anioły. Kościół i teologia obecnie nie mają już nic do zaoferowania tym, dla których ta wiara ma istotne znaczenie. Wpływ Kościoła i teologii na społeczeństwo uległ silnemu zmniejszeniu. I ten proces się jedynie pogłębia. Miast zwrócić się ku transcendentnemu światu, Kościół zajmuje się przede wszystkim swoją własną organizacją i sprawami finansowymi. Karol Barth twierdził, że tam, gdzie neguje się anioły, neguje się w najgłębszym sensie Boga Izraela. Okazało się, że Barth miał rację.
Wraz ze zniknięciem aniołów zniknęło w dużym stopniu też doświadczenie rzeczywistości świata niebiańskiego i obecności Boga. Potrzebna jest dlatego odnowiona refleksja, aby dojść do odnowionej świadomości rzeczywistości niebiańskiej i aniołów jako prawdziwych świadków Boga i Jezusa Chrystusa.

Te słowa przywodzą na myśl spotkanie, które w ubiegłym roku zostało zorganizowane przez ekumeniczną wspólnotę KGIJ z okazji jutrzejszego święta. Zarówno w grupie przygotowującej je, jak i na samym spotkaniu, wyczuwało się, że większość członków wspólnoty miała problem z mówieniem o aniołach. Jedyną osobą z naszego grona, która tej trudności najwyraźniej nie odczuwała, była dyrektor szkoły waldorfskiej . Ten kontrast uświadamia, że to, co ulega wyparciu z głównego nurtu chrześcijaństwa kościelnego, rozkwita poza nim. Jednocześnie warto też dodać, że było to jedno z tych spotkań, na którym pojawiła się szczególnie duża grupa ludzi z zewnątrz, których zainteresował właśnie ten temat i którzy, podkreślając skądinąd, że z Kościołem nic już ich nie łączy, chcieli podzielić się swoimi przeżyciami związanymi z aniołami…

two years ago. Today we would like to pay some attention to angels in general. Last week we visited the
Kruispunt
Reformed parish in the Hague. In its magazine we found a thought-provoking text authored by the Rev. Dr. L.F. de Graaff entitled “The Disappearance of Angels”. The author, a Reformed minister, devoted his dissertation to the topic of angels.
For the greatest part of the church’s history people have drawn strength and consolation from the belief in angels. The church and theology have nothing to offer to people for whom this belief is essential anymore. The influence of the church on society has been greatly diminished and this process continues. Instead of turning to the transcendent world, the church is busy above all with its own organization and financial matters. Karl Barth claimed that where people refuse to acknowledge angels, they refuse to acknowledge the God of Israel in the deepest sense. It turned out that Barth was right.
With the disappearance of angels, the experience of the heavenly reality and of God’s presence disappeared also to a great extent. Therefore renewed reflection is needed in order to come to a renewed consciousness of the heavenly reality and the angels as the true witnesses of God and of Jesus Christ.

These words bring to my mind the meeting organized last year by the ecumenical congregation KGIJ on the occasion of tomorrow’s feast. Both in the group that prepared it and at the meeting itself you could sense that it was not easy for most people to talk about angels. The only person from our congregation that apparently did not have difficulties with it was the headmaster of a Waldorf school. This contrast shows that what is pushed away from the Christian mainstream flourishes outside it. It is also worth adding that it was one of those meetings when especially many people came from outside our congregation, people interested in this particular topic, who stressed by the way that they had nothing in common with the church anymore and only wanted to share their experiences with angels…
